I am Newbee here. Hope you can give me a jump start.

Although I used the search function - I couldn't find any answer to that question.

:?: I wonder if some of you can suggest me a good effordable Navigation system for use in the USA.

:arrow: I am open to use PDA-phone, Smartphone or anything else, but it should be a mobile system.

Just bought the Tomtom package for the US (from PalmOne). You need to have a Palm, though. Infos at www.palmone.com, look for GPS.

I checked it in CA the other weekend and drive through Texas with it all the time. Costs about $300.

My stepdad used the same (TomTom) when he came over here for a stay. He has a German PDA + GPS with the TomTom software.

The program showed every single little road in Glenville, West Virginia.....which is amazing, in my opinion.
There is a reason John Denver sings about "country roads" in West Virginia, if you know what I mean

I am using TomTom (Version 3) and I am happy with it. But for that version no US maps are available yet. And the maps of the older version are not compatible :cry:

I know what you mean - I even used the song in one of my home-made videos about traveling in the US. You are living in a really nice country.

TomTom cannot be the only good solution - or am I wrong?
Any other recommendable suggestion?
