The USA has 50 states. I am curious...

Which 10 are your favorite? These can be states you have seen and loved or still want to visit.

Which 10 are least interesting to you? These can be states you have already seen and did not like or states that you would never consider visiting.

My top 10 are: New York, California, Arizona, Utah, Florida, Massachusetts, Washington State, Oregon, Wyoming and Alaska

My bottom 10 are: Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Kansas, Indiana, Arkansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma

Das ist eine gute Frage, denn ich bin da so wie Du, ich kenne eigentlich nicht so viele Staaten intensiev, halt nur die in unserer Nachbarschaft hier, oder die, in welchen wir Verwandte haben, ode rin welchen ich fuer laengere Arbeitsaufenthalte war.
Daher kenne ich nur einen (von mir) sehr ungeliebten Staat, und das ist Texas.

Da dies eher ein Urlaubsforum ist gehe ich mal davon aus, dass man nicht mal zwingend da gewesen sein muss um zu wissen ob man da mal hin will oder nicht. Was einem gefaellt ist ja oft Bauchgefuehl oder viele entscheiden ja schon welche Staaten sie toll finden wie das Wetter in ihrem letzten Urlaub dort gewesen ist. Hinzu kommt, dass man Montana vielleicht im Urlaub ganz toll findet aber eher im Alltagsleben der Stadtmensch ist. Ich wuerde z.B. sehr gerne mal Montana oder Alaska besuchen aber das ist fuer mich nicht wirklich was zum leben. Trotzdem wuerde ich die sehr weit oben auf der Urlaubsliste setzen.

Oregon is beautiful, Washington State is beautiful .... Virginia has its moments, Florida is different, Washington DC. is too crowded.

I don't much care for California

I have lived in 5 States and have visited about 30 of the 50 states. My parents loved to travel and we saw a lot. There are still a couple of states I would love so see and have not been to: Massachusetts, Washington State, Oregon, Wyoming and Alaska. That is why they are on my favorite list. I had written:

I would still like to visit Massachusetts, Washington, Oregon, Wyoming and Alaska because I think they would be intersting landscapes to see.

The states on the bottom of my list are states I have been to and do not like.

Yes, that is exactly what I meant. A lot of people travel to the USA. There must be some reason for their choice of which state they visit.

I was simply interested in which states are interesting for vacationers and which ones not so interesting.

I like:

Alaska (good thing, too, that I like it....since I have to live here )
Illinois/Chicago area (used to live there, would go back in a heartbeat)
New Mexico/Arizona/Louisiana/California/Florida = great for vacations
the Carolinas = could live there (lived in NC for a year)
Tennessee = another vacation spot (I love country music )

There aren't really any states that I dislike.....it's just that I wouldn't be too interested in going there since there are all those nice other spots (see above ). That's probably why I've never been to the New England States. Maybe someday, but I'd rather go somewhere else. Up to now, I have lived in 3 states and visited about 30.

There are a few states I would prefer not to live in (Kansas, for example....und the entire Northeast ). And there are definitely tons of cities in which I would not want to live (such as New York, Washington, Miami). But generally, I think I'm pretty flexible.

And I'm hoping that one of these days we'll be able to make our dream come true and travel all across the USA in a big motorhome.
