    Divorce after having the greencard for 4 years

    Hi everybody,
    I've been married to an American citizen for 11 years now and received the green card 4 years ago. Now I'm unfortunately thinking about divorce - how would that affect my status?

    Hi Jan,

    assuming you have the unconditional GC which is valid for 10 years, a divorce does not affect your status at all.

    As BEate correctly said, a divorce will not have any effect on your status at all.
