The German International School of Silicon Valley (GISSV) is a private school with classes from Preschool through 12th Grade with a bilingual German-English educational program. We serve children of all nationalities in the San Francisco Bay Area and are accredited by the German Government and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
GISSV is currently looking for an energetic, professional and reliable individual for the position of Head of Administration starting June 1, 2009
Minimum Educational/Experience Requirements:
Master’s degree in Public Administration or Business Administration plus 3 years of experience leading intercultural non-profit organizations or related occupation or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field plus 5 years of experience in administration of intercultural non-profit organizations or related occupation.
Job Description:
Manage all administrative affairs for the school, including Finances/Accounting, Human Resources, Facility management and Admissions. Provide managerial support to Principal and Board of Directors. Secure financial and personnel support from the German government. The Head of Administration needs to communicate continuously with local authorities as well as with the German General Consulate and government agencies in Germany. He/She supervises six subordinate administrative positions.
Also, the Head of Administration coordinates the further development of the school facilities including the planning of a new school campus.
Skills Required:
Good leadership skills and ability to work in an intercultural environment
Excellent communication skills in English and German,
Knowledge in accounting software Quickbooks
